A solid background of information and skill is essential, and while you need some talent, you can play poker without an abundance of strategies and plans.

After all, you don't have to be Jim Hendrix to play the guitar, Van Gogh, or Shaq to play basketball. What you do need to become a winning player are a solid plan to learn the game and discipline.
